Secondary Math Tuition in Singapore: Build Confidence in E Math & A Math
Understanding first, exam confidence next. Small-group lessons at our Ang Mo Kio centre.

Secondary Mathematics becomes more demanding from Sec 1 onwards. New topics arrive quickly, and each one builds on the last. Most students who struggle are not "bad at Math". They have small gaps in the fundamentals that quietly add up until a new topic no longer makes sense.
At AZKEN, we start by finding those gaps. We focus on understanding concepts, identifying each student's weaknesses and building real confidence, and only then move into focused examination practice.
Our programme
Secondary Math Tuition at AZKEN
We teach Secondary Mathematics from Sec 1 to Sec 4, covering lower-secondary Math as well as upper-secondary E Math and A Math for the O-Levels. Lessons are taught in small groups so every student receives individual attention. See how this fits alongside our other programmes on the Subjects page.
Elementary Mathematics
E Math Tuition: Strong Fundamentals for the O-Levels
E Math rewards students who are secure in the basics and can apply them to unfamiliar questions. Our E Math lessons focus on:
- Fundamentals and algebraic manipulation
- Geometry, mensuration and trigonometry
- Graphs and coordinate geometry
- Statistics and probability
- Problem solving and real-world application questions
- O-Level examination preparation
Additional Mathematics
A Math Tuition: Progressive Mastery of Harder Topics
A Math moves fast and depends on strong algebra. A student who is unsure about factorisation or indices will find later topics much harder. We secure those foundations first, then build mastery step by step through:
- Quadratic functions and inequalities
- Indices, surds and logarithms
- Trigonometric functions, identities and equations
- Differentiation and its applications
- Integration and its applications
Our approach
How We Teach Secondary Math
- Concepts before repetition. Students understand why a method works before practising it.
- Individual weak topics. We identify where each student is losing marks.
- Carefully selected practice. Worksheets and examination questions are chosen with purpose, not quantity.
- Step-by-step correction. Mistakes are worked through so they are not repeated.
- Exam technique and time management. Read more in our guides on building O-Level Math exam stamina and avoiding careless mistakes.
- Room to ask. Students are encouraged to seek clarification from the tutor whenever they are unsure.
Class size
Small Classes, Personal Attention
AZKEN classes are kept small, with a maximum of 8 students where applicable. This lets the tutor look at each student's working, notice where they are going wrong and help them directly, rather than simply teaching from the front of the classroom.

FAQ
Secondary Math Tuition: Parent Questions
When should my child start Secondary Math tuition?
The best time is before gaps pile up. Many families start in Sec 1 or Sec 2 to secure algebra and fundamentals, or in Sec 3 when A Math begins. Students who join later can still improve, but earlier support gives more time to fix weak topics calmly.
What is the difference between E Math and A Math?
E Math (Elementary Mathematics) is the core O-Level Mathematics subject taken by most students. A Math (Additional Mathematics) is an elective that goes deeper into algebra, trigonometry and calculus, and relies heavily on strong algebraic skills.
Can a student who is currently failing still improve?
Yes. Several of our published reviews describe students who moved from failing grades to A1 or A2. Improvement depends on consistent effort, but once the missing foundations are identified and rebuilt, progress often comes faster than parents expect.
How large are AZKEN's classes?
Our classes are kept small, with a maximum of 8 students where applicable, so the tutor can see each student's working and spot weaknesses early.
