Primary Science

Science Tuition in Ang Mo Kio for Primary & PSLE Students

Our Primary Science programme is suitable for Primary 5 and Primary 6 students who want to build real understanding, not just memorise notes. Many of our students come to us understanding the Science concepts in class, yet losing marks because they cannot express their answers accurately in the exam. Closing that gap is at the heart of how we teach.

Lessons focus on conceptual understanding first, then application questions and accurate answering techniques. Students practise explaining their reasoning in full, using the keywords examiners look for, so that what they know in their heads shows up on the paper. For Primary 6 students, this becomes focused PSLE Science preparation: exam-style questions, structured answering practice and regular feedback on where marks are being lost.

Classes are small groups at our Ang Mo Kio centre, so every student gets individual attention and no one hides at the back. The programme is taught by Mr Ken Lim, founder of AZKEN, who has been teaching Mathematics and Science since 2010 and has spent years marking papers and reviewing student performance. You can read more about his approach in our guides on answering PSLE Science open-ended questions and preparing for P5 Science exams.

Primary & Secondary Maths

Math Tuition in Ang Mo Kio for Primary & Secondary Students

AZKEN offers small-group Maths tuition in Ang Mo Kio across three programmes, so your child is always learning at the right level:

  • Primary Mathematics (P5 to P6). Building strong number sense, problem-solving heuristics and exam confidence through to the PSLE, with targeted help on weak topics.
  • Secondary E Math (Sec 1 to 4). The core O-Level Mathematics syllabus, taught with an emphasis on understanding, method and exam preparation.
  • Secondary A Math (Sec 3 to 4). Additional Mathematics for students taking the O-Level A Math paper, with deeper concepts and past-year paper practice.

For a full look at our Sec 1 to 4 programme, see our Secondary Math tuition (E Math & A Math) page.

Our approach is the same at every level: understand first, then practise with purpose. We identify each student's weak topics, work through them in a small group where questions are always welcome, and build towards exam readiness with timed practice. Secondary students preparing for the O-Levels sit full trial papers in one sitting in the months before the exam, so stamina and time management are trained, not hoped for.

Maths at AZKEN is taught by Mr Ken Lim, teaching Mathematics and Science since 2010, and Mr Chiang Jian Lun, a former MOE teacher and O-Level Math specialist in E Math and A Math. You can read their guides on building O-Level Math exam stamina and avoiding careless mistakes in Math, and see what parents say on our reviews page.

For parents

Choosing the Right Maths Tuition Programme

If your child is in Primary 5 or 6, the Primary Maths programme builds the foundations and problem-solving habits needed for the PSLE. If your child is in Secondary school, the choice depends on the papers they take: every O-Level student sits E Math, while A Math is for students who have chosen Additional Mathematics, usually from Secondary 3. Students who are unsure which class fits can start with a trial lesson, and we will recommend the right group after seeing how they work.

Check the latest Maths class schedule for days and times, or enquire about a trial lesson and we will help you choose.

Frequently Asked Questions
